Janet received her Bachelor’s of Science in Honours Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, and completed medical school and residency training in Internal Medicine and Medical Biochemistry at McMaster University. She then moved to Vancouver to join the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at St. Paul's Hospital.

In addition to laboratory practice, Janet provides clinical service in Internal Medicine. She also serves as the Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer (ACMIO) for PHC. When not in the hospital, she enjoys cycling, hiking, and exploring Vancouver's restaurant scene with her family.
